Hernia and general surgery in Tabriz, for patients outside Iran.
This page is for visitors and Iranians living abroad who have a hernia, gallstones or another surgical problem and are thinking of being seen by Dr. Sepehr Rahimzadeh, a general surgeon in Tabriz. It explains what to collect before you come and how to reach the support team.
Before you travel
Gather what you have. Clear copies or phone photos are fine to start with.
- Reports of earlier operations, especially on the abdomen, including any hernia repair and the details of any mesh
- Recent blood test results, and any pathology reports
- Ultrasound, CT or MRI reports and, if you have them, the images themselves
- Every medicine you take or have taken for this problem: the name, the dates, and how you responded
- Any hospital stay, surgery or treatment you had in another country
- A short timeline: when the bulge or pain started, what makes it better or worse, and any change in it
- Your allergies and your other long-term conditions
The way to send these documents is still being confirmed. For now, call the international support line: +989302272111

Practical questions
Can a diagnosis be made from my records alone?
No. Your records help the doctor understand your situation, but a diagnosis and a treatment plan come after an examination and the right tests.
Should I stop or change my medicines before I travel?
No. Keep taking your medicines as prescribed and do not stop or change any of them without your own doctor. Bring the list with you.
How long would I need to stay in Tabriz?
It depends on the tests, on whether you have surgery and on your recovery. Long journeys soon after surgery need the doctor's advice, so ask after the first visit.
My bulge has become hard and painful, or I have severe abdominal pain. Can I wait until I travel to Tabriz?
Please do not wait. A trapped hernia and severe abdominal pain need care where you are, today. See the list of urgent signs in the guide.
What about language, fees and insurance?
These are not confirmed yet and are listed above as awaiting details. Please do not assume anything until they are confirmed.
What number do I call in an emergency?
115 is Iran's emergency number. It works only while you are in Iran. From abroad, use your local emergency number.
Every patient's situation is different; ask your doctor about your own.
